The celebrated Hip Hop duo CuzCo is comprised of Indigenous hip-hop poet Wire MC and Argentinean born rapper Choo Choo. CuzCo will be joining the 2010 Somerset Writers’ Festival, conducting two 45 minute sessions during which they will perform some of their own hip hop compositions.

Wire MC and Choo Choo have performed across Australia and overseas, rhyming over original beats and pushing their message of ‘Freedom Before Peace’. Through their programmes and appearances, CuzCo engages children and young people in creating narratives about their lives through a learning process that uses social and environmental conditions that young people experience in their own communities.

CuzCo Extended Hip Hop Workshop

“Hip-hop is really a voice of the community, of the area. It helps you represent where you're from. It teaches you self-knowledge and self-awareness.”
