Catherine Bateson lives in the hills outside Melbourne where she writes novels and poetry. Her novels include Rain May and Captain Daniel (CBCA Book of the Year, Younger Readers), Millie and the Night Heron (CBCA Honour Book, Younger Readers) and her latest, Being Bee, (CBCA Book of the Year, Younger Readers). She has also published two collections of poetry for adults and has a third collection coming out in 2008. She currently teaches Professional Writing and Editing at Box Hill Tafe and is always working on new writing projects.
