 Garry Disher grew up in South Australia. A full-time writer for many years, he is the author of more than forty titles—fiction, children’s books, anthologies, textbooks, and the Wyatt thrillers. Disher has won numerous awards, including the National Short Story Award 1986, the NSW Premier’s Award 1999 for The Divine Wind and the CBCA Book of the Year, Younger Readers 1993, for The Bamboo Flute. He has twice won the German Crime Prize and his highly praised novel, The Sunken Road, was shortlisted for the 1996 National Book Council Award for fiction.
Garry Disher is the author of the highly successful Challis & Destry detective series, set on the Mornington Peninsula and published around the world to critical acclaim. The series includes The Dragon Man, Kittyhawk Down, Snapshot and, most recently, Chain of Evidence. Chain of Evidence won the 2007 Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Novel.
