Twenty-four year old Ingrid Jonach has enjoyed writing children’s stories since she was a child herself. Her first children's novel The Frank Frankie was released by Pan Macmillan last July. The sequel will hit the shelves this July. Ingrid has previously published a children's picture book A Lot of Things.
Ingrid studied a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing at the University of Canberra, which she graduated from with honours in 2005. She worked as a journalist with The Canberra Times and The Canberra Sunday Times before making the move into public relations.
Her time at the newspaper served as inspiration for The Frank Frankie, which follows the adventures of a nine year old girl who wants to be a journalist. Frankie decides to launch her own newspaper, but a newspaper needs news and soon she is spying on her neighbours and revealing family secrets in print!
Ingrid comes from a creative family. Her parents are both visual artists and her cousin is bestselling novelist Di Morrissey. She admires authors Victor Kelleher, John Marsden, J.K. Rowling, Angie Sage and Lauren Child.
