Moya Simons has been writing for children for the past fifteen years.  Her books are widely read in schools and most of them are on the Premier’s Challenge Reading List.  

Moya has had her worked published throughout Europe, the USA and Taiwan, where her work is widely read.

She’s been shortlisted for YABBA,  and the Western Australian and South Australian children’s book awards.

Her books are usually family oriented based mainly on school adventures and alien themes.    She is best known for the Dead series (including Dead Meat and Dead Average)  and the Totally books (including Totally Cool and Totally Freaky)  Her most recent book,  Hello God,  was released in August and is receiving wonderful reviews.   It’s a sensitively written book about a child’s nightly discussions with God.  

Next year, Moya has two books coming out about children running a detective agency.

Moya loves the colour turquoise, likes to walk along beaches, enjoys her beautiful Burmese cat, Sharmi and has a wonderful husband, Jules, who is an artist.

Her favourite food is chocolate which she feels is good for her as she doesn’t like vegetables very much, and chocolate is made from the cocoa bean.
