Dance

Dance is an expressive human movement, which forms an integral part of human life and culture. Dance exists in a large variety of forms and for different purposes, ranging from a social past time to theatrical performance and religious rite. It is a blending of body and mind, a form of non-verbal communication. Through dance, pupils develop an understanding of its value in their own and other cultures and extend their understanding of themselves, their place in society and of how they can communicate through dance.

At Somerset College, dance tuition is offered in the following areas:-

jazz/modern/funk
classical ballet (RAD)
tap

Dance lessons are organised on a term basis, with the provision of a minimum of 32 lessons per year, averaging eight lessons per term. These will be invoiced by the College, separate from the College tuition fees and supplementary account.

PLEASE NOTE: FEES ARE PAYABLE IN ADVANCE

The fee structure is as follows:-

Junior and above - $99.00 per term

Early Childhood Class/Beginners/Jazz - $89.00 per term

Due to the nature of dance classes, make-up lessons in the manner of the instrumental absences are not possible. Pupils are welcome to attend other lessons to make-up for those missed.
