Under 7 Girls

The U7 girls played Pacific Pines Silver at home in an intense game with no score for the first half. The Spartan girls did get a few good shots; however, Pacific Pines held their defence. In the second half our girls' teamwork improved and under instruction from Coach Mark. It did not take long until the opposition's defence line was broken and Ava scored the first goal. The game finished with goals from, Ava (two), Annie (two) and Gabbi (one). Also, great passes and defending from Isabella and Robin. Player of the Week went to Gabbi for her consistent effort and fantastic teamwork.

The following round, the side met Pacific Pines Pink. From the start, they attacked nonstop taking our team to an early and constant lead. Ava and Annie scored, getting the ball out of sticky situations. Edie and Robin were persistent and unyielding, chasing the ball to stop goals,

What a great game! Player of the Match - Edith Hilbert

Under 6
Somerset Under 6 played a nail-biting match against Robina Gold. Olly and Aksel managed to successfully defend the opposition and get the ball away. Scarlett scored the first goal of the match. Zara kicked well from the sideline, Ollie displayed some very fancy footwork, the other team scored and then the whistle signalled half time with a score of 1-all. A superb kick from Ollie, passing to Scarlett who tapped the ball in the goal! Aksel followed with another goal taking the final score 4 to 2!

The brilliant teamwork resulted in all players being jointly named Player of the Week. A special thanks to Cooper and Mark for coaching!

Under 6s followed the next round against Nerang, attacking and working together helping Aksel score three goals in the first half. Zara and Hannah put the pressure on and kept our defence up with some tricky ball moves working as a strong team together. Nerang couldn’t stop Scarlett kicking three amazing goals in the second, taking the win 6 to 1.

In the most recent round, Somerset versed Robina in an exciting clash to watch. Somerset came out firing in the second half with Aksel quickly scoring the first goal of the match. Robina replied with two goals in succession but Somerset never gave up. Ollie was formidable in defence, Hannah had some strong kick offs and Scarlett worked hard dribbling the ball down the wing helping Aksel, in his strong attack, to kick another goal to even the score. Zara showed lots of courage tackling and winning the ball and James slotted into the team well as a player key in the mid field.

Some excellent defending along with Aksel’s goal scoring magic and Somerset managed to score again. Another win to the Under 6s, 3 to 2.
