Somerset Business Lunch with Soheil Abedian

Following on from the successes of our inaugural lunch, we are pleased to announce Mr Soheil Abedian, Founder and Chairman, Sunland Group Ltd as our guest speaker for 9 March in the Princeton Room, Bond University.

Soheil, born in Persia in 1949, his upbringing and contact with a variety of cultures and philosophies have contributed to his inspirational outlook on life. After graduating from University of Graz in 1979, with a Masters Degree in Architecture, Soheil immigrated to Australia in 1981.

Soheil's first project under the Sunland banner was to design a luxury home in Surfers Paradise. His unique design abilities became obvious later in the 80s with the design of Sunland’s first high rise Malibu and later on in many landmark developments such as Palazzo Versace, Q1 The World’s Tallest Residential Tower and Circle on Cavill in Queensland, and Yve and Balencea in Victoria. In 1995 Sunland listed on the ASX. Today the Group is a major force in property development, not only because of its diverse operations in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, but because of its innovative approach. The company’s current pipeline comprises a portfolio over $3.5 billion with projects spread over three states in Australia .

High on his priority is his philanthropic involvement with the community. Soheil is involved with many charitable organizations, including Leukemia Foundation, the Salvation Army, and Education support (through the establishment of the Abedian School of Architecture at Bond University, scholarships for indigenous students and overseas orphanage and educational programs).
