Sunday afternoon, 19 March, saw our first dance workshop for the year take place. Kahlia Sulendra from Ikin Dance came to put our dancers through their paces. Kahlia is a hip-hop/street dance teacher.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience the expertise of another teacher to broaden their understanding and experiences in dance. Students participating in the workshop ranged from Years 1 to 12. The students learnt a routine during the workshop and then presented it as part of our Sunday at Somerset Concert series in the afternoon.
Thanks must go to Kahlia for her work with the students and also to Ms Melissa Parkinson who was instrumental in organising the workshop. All the students would agree that everyone needs to keep their eyes open for the next workshop.
