Welcome to Term Two, 2020
By Craig Bassingthwaighte, Headmaster
I certainly hope that you and your family had a relaxing and refreshing Easter break. We welcome our Somerset community to a term that will no doubt go down in history.
Craig Bassingthwaighte, Headmaster
A very warm welcome and welcome back to Term Two especially to all the new families and students. We bid farewell to Dr Andrew Cousins and welcomed Mrs Karen Crowley into the new role of Dean of Studies.
Mrs Crowley will continue to assist the academic and tertiary aspirations of our Senior Class as well as heading up our Data Team. Her office is the one adjacent to the Deputy Headmaster in The Arnison Building.
Mr Rhys Kemp M Ed (Lead & Mgt), B Ed, joins us as our inaugural Head of Curriculum Services.
We wish Mr Dane Oman and Mr Mike Murray a restful and enjoyable break in their respective long service leave this term.
The following changes will take place for Term Two:
I’m sure you will join me in welcoming these new members of staff to Somerset.
Our second annual survey had over 170 respondents and gave us a wealth of feedback about strengths and weaknesses. Dr Adrian Johnson, Head of Senior School, will report at much greater length but I wanted to respond immediately to some comments about how to communicate with the College if you have feedback for us. As the survey is completely anonymous, we can’t communicate with those who completed the survey and said they would like us to follow up.
If you would like to give feedback or seek clarification about things to do with the Senior School please contact the following members of staff:
If you are ever unclear about who to contact please phone or email the Senior School Reception.
We encourage your feedback as it is one of the ways we can uphold our commitment to continuous improvement. We all want Somerset to be better tomorrow than it is today.« Back to IndexNext article in this edition »
