Last Sunday, 21 May, GeneroCity was held in the Towers Quad. This concert was produced by myself through the help of many different people and was my Personal Project.
GeneroCity was predominantly a vocal concert, however, there were a couple of performances that varied, including contortion and dance.
Approximately 90 tickets were sold and all admission fees and donations are to be donated to Saint John's Crisis Centre. I chose to donate this money to this organisation as I have had previous relations with them and I am eager to to help where I can.
Somerset staff, students and families showed up for the afternoon along with many visitors from Surfers Paradise Anglican Church. I was thrilled and overwhelmed by the generosity of our community as we managed to raise approximately $1300.
The event was a great success and provided a fun afternoon of entertainment for many. More importantly though, we were able to offer help to those who need it most.
