Music Extension is a Year 12 subject that, amongst other things, encourages students to communicate and express complex ideas about music and to investigate and realise music ideas. In this subject students explore advanced performance, composition and musicology skills. Students engage with the audience to express music ideas and in turn capture the mood and character of the music.
Never was this as evident as on Wednesday afternoon when our Year 12 Music Extension students performed their pieces. Dr Brohier and I had the pleasure of watching and hearing these students perform their pieces on a variety of instruments including voice, piano, trumpet and violin. Congratulations to all the students on their performance and also to Mrs Roberts for the amazing work she does and to Mr Owens for his help during the performance.
