Whilst our Year 11 and 12 students continue to complete their Semester One examinations, Years 7 to 10 students have started to move back into their rehearsal regime along with their Junior School counterparts, who have continued working in their various scheduled rehearsals, preparing for our upcoming events.

Upcoming Events - Somerset Festival for Young Performers

Don’t forget that the entries for the above festival close today, Friday 27 May. Late entries will not be accepted. If you are quick you may be able to get your last minute entries in. For more information please click here.

Additionally, remember that on Saturday 11 June a variety of workshops (with opportunities for private lessons) will be offered at the College as an adjunct to the Somerset Festival for Young Performers. The places in these workshops are strictly limited. Workshops on offer include Piano, Violin, Speech and Drama, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Voice, Brass and Cello. They are open to students of all ages, through to Year 12. For information regarding the workshops please click here with information regarding the tutors at this link here. These workshops are not limited to just the students from Somerset College, all students are welcome.

Junior School Showcase Concert

Monday 6 June will see the Junior School Showcase take place. Many students have been busily practising their instruments and warming up their vocal chords ready for the Monday evening’s performance. Information regarding this concert will appear on Schoolbox, so keep a watch out for these notices. This is a wonderful opportunity to see where our students are at with their various ensemble groups at this point of the year. Please take the opportunity to be an audience member and perhaps take the time to meet with the director of your child’s ensemble.

A Continued Plea

The Senior Musical this year requires many of the cast to have lab coats. If any members of the College Community have a lab coat or two hanging in cupboard collecting dust, we will happily find them a new home. It does not matter what state of repair they are in. Any donations can be dropped to Mrs Roberts’ or Mrs Fisher’s offices in the PA.

Co-curricular Changes for Term Three

Any changes to co-curricular lessons for Term Three must be made by the end of the term. Notification for the cessation of lessons must be made by completing the form, Cancellation of Co-curricular Activities, found on this page. Changes regarding the cessation of lessons not received by the last day of term will incur charges for Term Three lessons. New enrolments are to made through the Co-curricular Bookings as found on the same page.
