With Years 11 and 12 students completing their examinations this week, the Department is now working full steam ahead for the upcoming events that occur early in Term Three. Such events as Founders’ Day and the Senior Musical are first on our calendar, followed hot on the heels by Gold Coast Secondary Schools Drama Festival and the Gold Coast Eisteddfod.

Upcoming Events

Next Monday evening will see the Junior School Showcase take place. Many students have been busily practising their instruments and warming up their vocal ready for Monday evening’s performance. As per earlier information, the concert will commence at 6.00pm sharp in the Performing Arts Theatre. The concert should be finished no later than 7.30pm. The dress code for the concert is formal uniform for Years 3 to 6 and day uniform for Pre-Prep to Year 2. Students are asked to be in the Performing Arts Centre at 5.30pm for the necessary tuning and warm-up prior to the concert. It would be wonderful to see as many parents as possible at the concert. Please take this opportunity to make yourself known to the directors of the various ensembles.

This will be followed on Wednesday afternoon by the members of the Year 12 Music Extension class performing their first recital, commencing at 6.00pm. We are looking forward to hearing their performances.
