The Somerset Swim Club had 29 athletes attend the Queensland Short Course Championships from 26 to 28 August 2016. The meet was one of the strongest competitions within the State this year.

Somerset swimmers performed very well with the following swimmers finishing with medals:

  • Anarnya Berlowitz (17 years): 1st - 200m Breaststroke, 3rd - 100m Breaststroke
  • Olivia Collins (13 years): 2nd - 50m Butterfly, 2nd - 100m Butterfly
  • Tommaso D’Orsogna (Open): 1st - 100m Freestyle, 3rd - 100m Butterfly
  • Cameron Donovan (12 years): 2nd - 50m Breaststroke, 2nd - 100m Breaststroke
  • Regan Leong (Open): 3rd - 100m Freestyle
  • Brooke Otto (13 years): 2nd - 50m Backstroke, 1st - 200m Backstroke, 1st - 100m Backstroke
  • Jorja Otto (11 years): 2nd - 100m IM, 2nd - 50m Backstroke, 2nd - 100m Backstroke, 2nd - 100m Butterfly, 1st - 50m Butterfly
  • Leon Shirayama (15 years): 2nd - 100m Breaststroke
  • Harrison Smith (15 years): 2nd - 50m Breaststroke, 3rd - 100m Breaststroke
  • Sara Tazaki (12 years): 2nd - 400m Freestyle

Well done to our swimmers and coaches, Ash and Cheryl, who braved the long weekend of racing to ensure our Club and the swimmers were well serviced.
