Within the College, many students choose to make use of the Knowledge and Information Precinct facilities after school.
After school until 4.20pm, the KIP is first and foremost an academic space for students. Students are actively encouraged to use this time to be completing homework, working on assignments, online on activities related to their classwork, or else reading. For students from Year 4, it is ideal to be able to use this time productively, freeing up time at home.
There is always an Information Services staff member on duty to assist students of all Year Levels with research and referencing queries and in addition, an IT support officer on the help desk at lunch time and after school to assist with any tech-related issues. In addition, a Junior School Teacher Assistant is on duty until 4.20pm. Appropriate computer games are allowed in the KIP after 4.20pm.
The Multimedia and Hickey Family tutorial rooms are available for students who wish to work collaboratively and the Alumni Room is reserved for quiet study for Senior School students.
These guidelines help ensure that all student needs are catered for and that our Knowledge and Information Precinct is a supportive and productive environment.
