Our Junior School Cross Country Team competed at the APS Carnival last Tuesday and impressed us all with some outstanding results and sportsmanship. For some of our Year 4 athletes it was the first of many APS Carnivals.


As a team they came 4th overall and 3rd in the percentage trophy. Some outstanding individual results were:

  • 9 Girls - Maya Pearce (3rd), Sophie Crimmins (10th), Lili Bannerman (11th), Bessie Dear (12th)
  • 9 Boys - Bowen Mansell (5th), Bodhi Norman (14th), Heath Walker (15th)
  • 10 Girls - Oria Mougrabi (8th), Kartier Marjanovic (11th), Nadia Von Papen (12th)
  • 10 Boys - Sasha Vitte (5th), Harry Walters (8th), Phoenix Crampton (14th)
  • 11 Girls - Ruby Jay (8th)
  • 12 Girls - Adele Philips (3rd), Jenna Clements (9th), Riley Davenport (11th)
  • 12 Boys - Hugh Munro (10th), Oscar Vardy (15th)

Congratulations to Sasha Vitte and Adele Philips who have qualified for the South Coast Championships to be held at Runaway Bay on Tuesday 7 June.

Somerset Golfers set to Represent Australia

Three Somerset Junior School students have recently been selected to represent Australia in the inaugural US Kids Trans Tasman Cup in Sydney on the 27 and 28 May. Itsuki Oka, Justin Hammett and Sarah Hammett have been chosen to play in a match play format at Moore Park Golf Club. Justin and Sarah's brother, David, has been selected as first reserve for the team. Congratulations to these students.
