This year, our three Junior School choirs participated in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod. The Junior School choirs have been preparing for this performance for the last term, and put on an enthusiastic show.
It was a busy day of song, starting with the Years 1 and 2 Cool Cats students, followed by the Years 3 and 4 Melodic Mynas choir, and concluded in the evening with an energetic performance by the Years 5 and 6 Junior Chorale.
All choirs represented the College beautifully, and gave amazing performances. The Melodic Mynas were awarded with Highly Commended for their division, for their performance of ‘Pete Pete’ and ‘Paper Airplane’. The Cool Cats were commended on their well-rehearsed performance with beautiful tone and how they engaged the audience with their story telling skills. The adjudicators made special mention of the Junior Chorale and how sweetly they blended as a group.
A big thank you to Mrs Roberts for accompanying the choirs and for Miss Black for preparing us for this event. We were extremely proud at how our choirs performed at the eisteddfod – they have shown amazing growth over the last few terms. It was a lot of fun to perform for the community and participate in the event. Everyone did an amazing job and our choirs have come a long way since our first performance this year. We look forward to singing for our College Community in Term Four at the Junior School Showcase and Carols evening.
