Swish swash: the noise of the angry river. Clip clop: the animals who were fleeing. Drip drop: the noise of the river’s last drops.
Andrew Michael, Junior School Sports Coordinator
On Tuesday 16 May we took our APS cross country team to contest the annual APS cross country carnival at Runaway Bay Sports Club. It was a fantastic day of racing and team spirit put on display by our Junior School students.
The emphasis for the day was on team spirit and team work and we certainly saw that. Some impressive team results were:-
4th overall in the team aggregate pointscore;
2nd overall in the boys pointscore:
1st in the 9 Year Boys and 10 Year Girls age divisions; and
2nd in the 10 Year Boys age division.
Some outstanding individual results were:
Darcy Halloran 2nd, Raidan Kyaw 3rd, David Hammett 4th and Jayden McLean 5th in 9 Year Boys race.
Marley Burns 3rd, Rio Burns 4th and Bessie Dear 5th in 10 Year Girls Race.
Elijah Hill 2nd and Bowen Mansell 8th in the 10 Years Boys Race.
Well done to all members of the APS Cross Country Team, we are all proud of you.
