The Most Fantastic, Funniest Camp Ever
By Tima Korin, Year 4 Student
I loved all the activities at the Year 4 camp but my favourites were rock climbing and canoeing. Lake Ainsworth was such a beautiful, brilliant place.
Paul Taylor, Head of Junior School
For the past week, students and teachers in the Junior School have been treated to Italian Week - a weeklong festival celebrating all that is Italy! This is the second year Italian Week has run in the Junior School. The idea has come from our Junior School Italian teacher, Mrs Danielle Swainson, and she has continued to enthuse students with a range of activities throughout the week.
Students from Years 3 to 5 had the opportunity to learn to paint like Da Vinci, as they tried their best to recreate the Mona Lisa. They tried their hand at Bocce on The Common, doing their best to win against their friends. Students then had the chance to learn to make calligrams based on flags of the world - an art activity that is always enjoys by students that requires them to make the picture using words. Finally, on Friday, students had the opportunity to watch the movie, Storks, in Italian of course!
A very big thank you and congratulations must go to Mrs Swainson for her vision and persistence in making Italian Week such a great event in the Junior School. We are sure it will remain to be a yearly event on our Junior School calendar.« Back to IndexNext article in this edition »
