A Trip Out of this World for Year 1s
By Lesa Eastwell, Year Level Leader - Year 1
The Year 1 students visited the Sir Thomas Planetarium in Brisbane this week. As this was many of the students' first excursion the anticipation was high!
Paul Taylor, Head of Junior School
Last Monday evening, Junior School staff and parents were treated to a superb evening of entertainment by a large group of incredibly excited students from Prep to Year 6. The first of two Showcase evenings highlighted the talent of our students, along with those staff who work with them.
Our larger groups continue to improve and develop in confidence, with performances from Cool Cats, Melodic Mynas, Junior Chorale, Concert Band, String Orchestras and Suzuki Strings showcasing what each group is truly capable of. A huge thank you must go to the conductors of these groups as they continue to work hard with these groups, dedicating their time to them. Thank you also to those staff who accompany the performers.
It was also lovely to watch smaller ensembles and individual performances, ranging from monologues and solo singing through to string quartets and piano performances. Once again, a big thank you must go to our Peripatetic staff who teach these students and prepare them for performances.
We are looking forward to our next Junior School Showcase which will take place on Monday 7 November at 6.00pm. We cannot wait to see how much further our talented students have grown!« Back to IndexNext article in this edition »
