Last Saturday we took a bus of enthusiastic young runners to Brisbane to contest the Queensland All Schools Cross Country Championships. It was beautiful running conditions at Kedron High School as our students ran against some of Queensland's best middle distance runners.

Some impressive results on the day were Darcy Halloran and Ethan Grocott, who came 15th and 27th respectively in the 8 Years 1km Boys race. In the 10 Years Girls 2km race, Alex Halloran came 27th. In the 11 Years Boys 3km race, Matthew Leal, 52nd and Nicholas Lunniss, 60th. In the 12 Years Boys 3km race, Oscar Vardy came 51st.

Well done to our team and thank you to Mr Taylor and Mrs Grocott who travelled up to Brisbane on the bus with the team to assist on the day.

The Somerset students were not only impressive with their results, but also their behaviour and sportsmanship. Its not easy running against up to 100 other people but our students did it so well and represented the College with pride.

Good luck to all our athletes who are competing at the APS Cross Country Carnival on Tuesday the 17 May at Runaway Bay.
