  2. Your role in the Junior School? Teaching Assistant
  3. How long have you worked at Somerset College? 9 years
  4. What do you like most about your job? I love the fact that within the Somerset Community (both students and staff) there are so many interesting people with such varied personalities. Everyday is different and you just never know what the day might bring.
  5. Favourite Food? Fruitcake – more specifically, Mrs McFarland’s famous boiled fruitcake
  6. Nickname at primary school (if you had one!) Janey-o!
  7. Favourite colour? French Navy
  8. What other job would you like to do if you were not doing this job? Tour Guide
  9. What person inspires you the most and why? Fred Hollows. Fred was an Ophthalmologist who founded a not-for-profit organisation (The Fred Hollows Foundation) to help restore eyesight for many thousands of people here in Australia in our indigenous communities as well as communities abroad who either couldn’t afford or didn’t have access to basic eye care. Fred built lens factories in Eritrea and Nepal so he could train local doctors to perform operations to restore eyesight for around $25.00 per patient that would normally have cost hundreds of dollars thus enabling him to help more people in need. In 1990 Fred was awarded Australian of the Year for his outstanding work.

  8. What other job would you like to do if you were not doing this job? Travel writer
  9. What person in history (either ancient or modern) inspires you the most and why? Malala Yousafzai; for her courage, passion and strength of her conviction

  9. What person inspires you the most and why? The King, Elvis, for his innate talent
