By Lesa Eastwell, Year Level Leader - Year 1
The Year 1 students visited the Sir Thomas Planetarium in Brisbane this week. As this was many of the students' first excursion the anticipation was high!

On Saturday 11 June, I held an afternoon tea fundraiser for the Cancer Council’s annual Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea at The Pirate Park at Currumbin.
I know cancer can strike anyone at any age, including one my school friends, and my Pop. So when I heard on the radio I could help out this way, I thought it would be a great idea.
I thought it would be a great way to help support the Cancer Council, who do so much work supporting people fighting cancer, and also do so much research to find a cure. I wanted to thank all my friends in Year 3 who supported me on the day, and to everyone who very generously donated. All up I raised $960, way over my goal of $500 which is so awesome.
I also wanted to especially thank Mr Stafford who encouraged and supported me to do this when I came to him with my idea. Thank you for supporting me.« Back to IndexNext article in this edition »
