Our Senior 1sts Netball Team and Academy Teams competed at Vicki Wilson Cup last week continuing their fantastic season with some great results.

2016 - T3 - W3 - Netball

Vicki Wilson Cup

Our 1st team qualified top of their pool with six wins and a draw to Palm Beach Currumbin, who were playing with five State players. In a game that was neck and neck throughout, our girls came back from a two goal deficit when our brilliant defence gained a crucial intercept. With 58 seconds to go Rylee Burns drained a long shot which gave us the centre pass. A call from our captain, Xanthe Cerutti, to run a planned move paid off, when a centre pass was bulleted into the circle and scored for the draw. Our team showed that they can win under pressure going on to finish top of the table and progressing on to the next round of games being held on 16 August.

Our Academy side also played some great netball, winning five of their seven games to finish third in their pool.

Hinterland Netball Competition

For the past 16 weeks our elite teams have been competing in the Monday night netball competition at Firth Park. Both our 1sts and Academy teams have finished top of their tables as they head into the Quarter Finals this week. Well done girls and good luck!

UK Bradford Grammar Visit

Visiting UK school, Bradford Grammar, arrived Wednesday to play our Senior 1st and Academy teams. Bradford were blown away by our amazing facilities and enjoyed the games on our new indoor courts. Our teams had huge wins with final results – 1sts: 47-9 and Academy: 42-8. Well done, girls!
