Straight from running, jumping and throwing at the Inter-House Athletics Carnival, Somerset’s Science Committee members are still powering away on a Thursday afternoon. Each fortnight our members come together to bond over their love of science.

Currently, we are making Solar powered Aquaducks to present at Science Week. Everyone is so excited to test these out in the pool and the quad. Maybe the Science Committee captains might even jump in the pool too! So why not come join us?

We are also holding a Science week in Week 2 of Term Three. We will be exploding things, throwing eggs off balconies, and if you’re interested in some calmer activities, we will be star gazing.

And when we’re not creating something, we are spending our Wednesday lunchtimes demonstrating a range of different experiments to our Junior School friends. One of our crowd pleasers is making an elephant’s toothpaste! This term, it is all about the use of a microscope, magnification of cells, and more. This is also a great opportunity to practice your science skills and get your service hours up. So, come along on Thursday of every Week B to join the fun!
