This week we celebrate our APS Winter Season results at a Sports Assembly and finalise House Athletics Trials. Athletics practices continue over the holidays, leading to Week 1’s Athletics Camp and Week 2’s Athletics Carnival.
On Tuesday 7 June, a group of Somerset students competed in the 2016 Cross Country Regional Trials. It was a great day and the effort the students displayed was commendable. The competition was tough and they had some great results. From Junior School, Sasha Vitte came 33rd and Ruby Jay, 31st. In the 12 Years Girls, Adele Phillips came 4th, Amy Jackson, 18th, in the 14 Year Girls, and Jessica Cook came 11th in the 15 Years.
Aidan McKeon placed 38th in the 16 Years Boys, with Lauren Sprague coming 16th and Jessica Jackson, 17th in the 16 Years Girls. Zach Mark placed 14th in the 17 Year Boys and Carter Jenson came 4th and Elizabeth Kay, 5th in the 18 Years events. Congratulations to all of these students. Some great results!
Somerset’s defending APS Champion team trains daily at the Track at 7.00am. Mondays and Wednesdays are track practices. Tuesdays and Thursdays are field (jumps and throws) practices. Fridays will have all events offered. Practice schedules are available on Schoolbox. Holiday practices are 7.00am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Track.
