This week we resume our Summer APS Season with Round 4 versus Emmanuel College and prepare for next week’s Athletics State Titles in Brisbane.

State Knock-out

Last weekend Somerset was the only school in the State to send teams to State Athletics Knock-out in every division at the University of Queensland. Competing against mostly large single-gender private schools, our athletes competed at a high level as they always do. Many thanks to our coaches and Ms Oppermann for helping on the day.

Visit from Borobi

Last week we had a visit from Borobi, the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games mascot. A number of Junior School students were treated to the fun-filled session as he finally took on “Marty”, our Spartan mascot, for a race on the track. A photo finish indicated a dead-heat but Marty assures us he is not currently in full training and will be peaking in time for the Games.
