Toby Wilson, Ocean Swimming

Congratulations to Toby, Year 12, for winning Gold in the Men's 2km Ocean Swim Championship at Mooloolaba earlier this week.

Tenyka Chapman, Athletics

Tenyka has been recently chosen on the Under 15 National Little Athletics Target Talent programme for the 1500m race walk in which she has been invited to attend a training camp being held in Canberra at the Australian Institute of Sport in September.

Charlotte Sly, Equestrian

Representing Somerset in Equestrian, Charlotte competed in a showjumping competition last Sunday hosted by Aquinas College at Nerang Pony Club. This was a State qualifier event. Charlotte came third overall in her secondary class after three rounds of showjumping out of a field of 11 competitors, managing to beat competitors from Emmanuel College, Aquinas College and others.

As a result, she has also managed to qualify for the State Championships to be held later this year in showjumping. Charlotte will be competing in another State qualifier event in three weeks in the discipline of dressage to hopefully qualify for the State Championships for that event also.

Ryan Vardy was selected as one of 40 Junior athletes as a “ rising star “ triathlete and as a result got to train for a few hours with selected athletes from all over Australia as well as coaches from the AIS. The selection was based on Ryan's results over the season with him placing in the top 6 of his age group in every race.
