This week we take on All Saints Anglican School in an APS Winter Sport Practice Round in readiness for our Round 1 fixture versus Coomera Anglican College next week. Compulsory APS practices continue every Monday and Wednesday.


Somerset South Coast Triathlon State Titles students.

South Coast Rugby Selections

Congratulations to the following boys for their selection in the South Coast Under 18 Rugby Union Team: Lewis Pye, Charles Pye, Josh Vuta, E’Shea Gafa, and Kai George. The boys will compete at the State Titles from 4 to 7 May.

Nicholas Pridham and Takahiro Ishii, Baseball

Nicholas was selected for the competitive South Coast Under 18 Baseball Team in which over 50 people which will be heading to Ipswich on 30 March to 2 April for the State tournament. Takahiro was selected a as “shadow” player for the team.

Triathlon State Titles

The All-Schools Queensland State Triathlon Championships was held on 24 February at Hervey Bay. Somerset had four students represent South Coast at the championships – Jemma Clements, Adele Phillips, Oskar Vardy, and Ryan Vardy. The South Coast team convincingly won the overall points score, taking home the shield from last year’s winner Metropolitan North. Ryan was also a member of the South Coast team in the Junior Male Relay which won a silver medal.

  • Adele Phillips – 11th
  • Jemma Clements – 33rd

Junior Male 13 to 14 Years (80 starters)

  • Ryan Vardy – 27th
  • Oskar Vardy – 45th
