Once again Show Choir has had a very successful time at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod. After many rehearsals and learning many pieces of repertoire the Show Choir was ready and excited to perform at the Gold Coast Arts Centre on Monday and Thursday.

On Monday, Show Choir performed in two sections, the Australian and Secondary Schools Showcase. Both sections were of an extremely high standard and Somerset did very well, placing third in the Australian Section and receiving first place in the Showcase with a stunning Adele Medley.

2016 - T3 - W8 - Show Choir

Thursday saw the Show Choir continue their work, with the Sacred section receiving a Very Highly commended and the Vocal Ensemble section receiving Honours. Later that evening Show Choir was announced as the Most Outstanding Secondary School Choir of 2016.

Special thanks must go to Mrs Sue Roberts for her wonderful guidance and happiness throughout this intensive time period. We could not have done it without you! Also to Show Choir’s costume extraordinaire, Mrs Anne Mason, for our incredibly beautiful costumes, we are so very grateful.

Furthermore, due Show Choir’s success we have been asked to perform our award-winning Adele Medley from the Showcase section, at the upcoming Gold Coast Eisteddfod Musicale! This concert features many outstanding acts from the Eisteddfod including Show Choir, so come along on 16 October to the Gold Coast Arts Centre at 2.00pm.

Tickets can be purchased online at this link here.

Congratulations to the Somerset College Show Choir!
