Over the last 2 Fridays the Under 14 Rugby team have dominated their opposition to earn the right at another shot at the strong Kings College Under 14 team in next week’s Grand Final.

The team have played some scintillating rugby, moving the ball wide with great flair and skill.

Powerful Number 8, Jake Sherrington has been an absolute handful picking up 3 tries in the 38-0 win over AB Paterson College. He continued his domination against Coomera Anglican College the following week by terrorising their defensive line to pick up 2 tries and set up several others. Not to be outdone, Will Barry has wreaked havoc on his opposition also scoring a double in the AB Paterson match and a hatrick in the Coomera match. The two boys have not been able to do it alone as the team has functioned brilliantly from prop to fullback. Others to find their name on the scoresheet have been Jacob Hall, Will Toohey, Ashton Govenlock, Fergus McKeon, Isaac Batho and Patrick Sowerby. The addition of Calvin Conley midway through the season has also provided some much needed go forward through the middle and added depth to our front row stocks. Prop, Isaac Batho had a very strong game against AB Paterson and was rewarded by being named Man of the Match whilst Winger, Ashton Govenlock showed determination and speed in the win over Coomera Anglican to be given Man of the Match honours.

Unfortunately the 72-5 victory over Coomera was not the ideal preparation for this week’s rematch against Kings but the boys are prepared and keen to reverse the in-season loss against the favourites.
