Hayley Tarr

Hayley founded Tarr Law – a boutique intellectual property law firm – in January 2020. Just one year later, Hayley was a finalist for the Australian sole practitioner of the year award. By her second year, despite working part time, she was able to pay herself more than she had ever been paid in her previous full time jobs at top tier firms. Her work is challenging and exciting: in 2022 alone, she has represented clients in matters against Instagram and General Motors. And this is just the beginning. Hayley has plans to grow the firm into the premier full service intellectual property law firm on the Gold Coast and beyond. She hopes that one day, some of the budding young lawyers of Somerset College will come to join her team. She is thrilled to have the chance to speak to you all at the festival, and hopes her story will inspire and encourage you to throw yourself into your unique skillset, and to hustle and grind your way out of any circumstance into the bright future that awaits you.
