SQUADS AND TRAINING TIMES
Training squads at the Academy are designed to test swimmers’ ability and promote both technique and speed development. Swimmers are introduced to a variety of training techniques to increase their ability.
There are five broad squad levels based on the training ability of the swimmer. Information on our current squads and their training times can be found below.
Coaching Squad preparation level. Continuing stroke correction, set development and race skills added.
Coaching squad preparation level. Continuing stroke correction, set development and race skills added. Training kit required. Club Membership compulsory.
Recommended two to three sessions per week (minimum two)
Squad for swimmers looking to advance their swimming abilities and endurance in either competitive swimming and/or other sports. Swim Club membership required.
Swimmers may attend any number of sessions through the week as required to meet their goals.
Swimmers who are close to or have qualified to compete at Summer State Championships and beyond. Swim Club membership required.
Recommended four to seven sessions per week (age dependent).
Swimmers who have qualified and are looking to compete at the National Age and National Open Championships and beyond.
Recommended six to nine sessions per week (age dependent).
Swimmers competing at National Open Championship level and being a part of national representative teams.
Session times and attendance subject to squad coach direction.
