Ashley is a triple Olympian and recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), who has also represented Australia at three Commonwealth Games and three World Championships. Ashley is a Gold Level Coach and is responsible for the Academy’s National and High Performance Squads.

Ashley won a gold medal in a world record time at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games alongside Michael Klim, Ian Thorpe and Chris Fydler in the Men’s 4 x 100 metre relay.

Further highlights include a gold medal in the 100 metre Freestyle at the 2002 FINA World Short Course in Moscow, a world championship, two Commonwealth and one Pan Pacific gold medal as a member of the Men’s 4 x 100 metre Freestyle Relay team and two gold and three silver medals at three Commonwealth Games.
