The Somerset Swimming Academy provides a well developed programme open to all the public that caters for all swimmers from Learn to Swim, development of Juniors, Seniors and Masters swimming. Our programme runs out of three heated pools, with two of these covered, dedicated learn to swim pools.
The Somerset Swimming Academy offers a Learn to Swim programme focused on delivering an enjoyable familiarisation to the aquatic environment. Children are taught water safety and swimming basics in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.
The Junior Development (JD) classes are the next level, following on from Learn to Swim, and involves a mini squad environment. The lessons are designed to teach swimmers all four swimming strokes and improve their technique to a level appropriate for squad training.
The training squads at the Academy are designed to test swimmers’ ability and promote both technique and speed development. Swimmers are introduced to a variety of training techniques to increase their ability.
For interested adult swimmers, our Masters programme offers a variety of activities. Ranging from our Masters and Fitness Squad, to Adult Fitness and Stroke Correction Classes.
