About Us

The Somerset Celebration of Entrepreneurship is an annual two-day festival held in September that acknowledges the problem solvers, creative thinkers and innovators of the Gold Coast and Queensland. Our Festival aims to bring together entrepreneurs and young people to share stories, collaborate and learn the secrets to success in the increasingly global workplace.

This year Somerset College is again conducting its Celebration of Entrepreneurship. This Celebration will deliver a programme which supports the growth of entrepreneurial skills amongst students.

Alongside our keynote speakers several other world celebrated entrepreneurs will attend the Festival and impart their wealth of knowledge to the students. The students will be able to hear first-hand stories of both successes and failures when taking the step into the business industry. In addition, select entrepreneurs will offer workshops to students to foster the entrepreneurial mindset.

The initiative will provide students with the knowledge, networks and hands-on experience to help them launch their own enterprises both now and in the future. We are very excited about bringing this exciting opportunity to the Somerset College community.

The Festival will occur 13 and 14 September 2022 and will involve many Somerset College Year 9 students operating business stalls to sell their products to the wider community. It will also involve our Year 6 students owning and operating their Kidpreneur stalls. Tickets to the event will be free.

Cordner Advisory Pty Ltd will also play an active role at the celebration by way of sponsorship of the Pitch Competition. Existing social enterprise partners of the College, including Mudgeeraba Special School, Guide Dogs Queensland, Rize Up, Still Waters and The Salvation Army will also be represented at the Festival, to share stories and opportunities in the growing area of Social Entrepreneurship.
