The Teacher – Senior School - Mathematics is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality Mathematics education that challenges and supports students to achieve their personal best. Working within a dynamic and well-resourced faculty, you will inspire students to develop confidence, analytical thinking and a strong foundation in mathematical concepts while contributing to a culture of academic excellence and learner growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced educator to make a meaningful impact within one of Australia's leading independent schools. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach Mathematics across Years 8–11, including Mathematical Methods, and will be committed to fostering outstanding student outcomes.
This position is a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract commencing 2027.
You will play an important role in nurturing students' critical thinking, problem-solving and quantitative reasoning skills, equipping them to become confident learners and informed global citizens.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver engaging and effective Mathematics programs that support outstanding student learning and achievement
Teach Mathematics across Years 8–11, including Mathematical Methods
Foster student curiosity, critical thinking, resilience and confidence in mathematical learning
Develop and implement high-quality curriculum, assessment and reporting practices
Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing and success
Differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs of students
Build positive and productive relationships with students, families and colleagues
Collaborate with faculty members to enhance curriculum delivery and teaching practices
Contribute to co-curricular, pastoral care and broader College initiatives
Participate actively in professional learning and continuous improvement opportunities

You bring:
Demonstrated experience teaching secondary Mathematics, including Mathematical Methods
The ability to teach Mathematics across Years 8–11
Strong disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge in Mathematics education
Qualifications in Mathematics, Education or a related discipline, with experience preparing students for strong outcomes in Mathematics subjects
Experience with International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes will be highly regarded
The ability to foster high levels of student engagement, achievement and academic growth
Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families and colleagues
A commitment to academic excellence, student wellbeing and continuous improvement
High levels of professionalism, reliability, integrity and discretion
The ability to perform standing and manual handling tasks including bending and lifting
Unrestricted Australian working rights
Current Queensland College of Teachers Registration
Current First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
