Somerset Swim Club has delivered an exceptional performance at the 2026 National Age Championships, finishing 11th overall from more than 200 clubs in one of the country's premier swimming competitions. The result reflects the depth, talent and dedication of the Club, with swimmers achieving national records, state records, podium finishes and numerous top-10 performances across the week.

Leading the charge was Leny, whose remarkable campaign included four individual national titles, multiple Australian, Australian All Comers and Queensland records, as well as gold in the 4x50m State Mixed Medley Relay.

Koa also enjoyed a standout championships, claiming four national titles, including an Australian and Queensland record in the 50m Breaststroke, while Chelsea, Cohen and Sophia each secured national titles in their respective events.

The Club's medal tally was further strengthened by outstanding performances from Levi, Kasia and Danny, who all reached the podium, while many other Somerset swimmers recorded top-10 finishes and personal best performances against the nation's best age-group competitors.

Beyond the medals, the Championships provided invaluable experience for every Somerset swimmer who represented the Club. From relay performances to personal milestones, every athlete contributed to an outstanding week of racing and demonstrated the commitment, resilience and team spirit that define Somerset Swim Club.

The Club also celebrates the selection of Leny and Coach Chris Urquhart for the Junior Pan Pacific Championships, along with Koa's selection in the Oceania Team, well-deserved recognition following an exceptional national campaign.

Congratulations to all swimmers who represented Somerset with such pride and professionalism. A special thank you also goes to coaches Chris Urquhart and Ash Callus for their leadership and support throughout the Championships.
