Round 1 of our APS Season 1 has begun with our Spartans taking on Emmanuel College today. While, Somerset Equestrian begins to grow with more riders representing the College and one Spartan has achieved an impressive national rank in Go Karting.

Equestrian

Two Somerset students recently competed at the Interschool Queensland event held by Springfield Anglican College and Emmaus College at the Park Ridge Pony Club.

Competitors, Jayde McKinnon, Sophie Krueger, Grace Frawley, Mia and Ava Reeves all performed brilliantly on an incredibly hot day.

Sophie took out overall first place for her age group and jump height, while Jayde achieved second place.

Grace Frawley and Jayde McKinnon also competed at the Glennie School Dressage and Show jumping competition in Toowoomba.

  • Grace Frawley Secondary Show Jumping 80cms - seventh out of a field of 19
  • Jayde McKinnon Secondary Show Jumping 110cms - third overall on her horse, Chester
  • Jayde McKinnon Dressage Novice 2A test - first place on Andy

Go Karting

Christian Pai recently competed in the Sodi World Series championship.

He joined the competition at the start of the year and is currently ranked 30th nationally out of around 2000 other drivers.
