Wildlife carers desperately need towels and face cloths during the busy spring rescue season to care for sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife. This project will be a co-ordinated effort between the Junior and Senior sustainability committees.

The project will also be used to raise awareness within the school community about threats to native wildlife and the ways everyone can help to keep them safe.

These include:

  • driving carefully on the roads and keeping a lookout for wildlife
  • keeping cats indoors and dogs contained to a small area at night
  • planting native trees · installing nest boxes in your backyard
  • avoiding poisonous pest baits · not feeding human foods to wildlife
  • providing fresh, clean drinking water for wildlife during prolonged dry periods
  • avoiding single-use plastic and dispose of rubbish responsibly
Collections will take place later this term.
