The daily routine varies for students at Somerset, depending on their Year Level and involvement in additional activities.

As a guide, we have provided information below. The class times for each sector within the College are also available in the resources area on this page.


The Pre-Prep hours are from 8.40am to 3.20pm each weekday. Supervision is provided from 8.15am until 8.40am.

Prep to Year 2

Prep to Year 2 classes commence at 8.40am each weekday. Those students in Prep and Year 1 who do not have an older sibling in the College are able to be dismissed at 3.00pm. Prep and Year 1 students who have an older sibling in the College are supervised until 3.20pm. Year 2 students are dismissed at 3.20pm to coincide with the dismissal time of students in Years 3 to 6 and the Senior School.

Years 3 to 6

Years 3 to 6 commence at 8.40am. Classes finish at 3.20pm. Junior School sport training for Years 4 to 6 is held every Tuesday afternoon from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. Attendance is compulsory. Teachers in the Junior School also offer optional after school tutoring classes. Parents are advised of further details throughout the year.

Senior School

The Senior School commences at 8.40am. Classes finish at 3.20pm. Senior School sport training is held every Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 3.30pm to 5.00pm. Attendance at one training session per week is compulsory. Teachers in the Senior School also offer optional before and after school tutoring classes in some subject areas.
