Somerset students put in their best at the Tennis Future Stars Gala day event held Sunday 17 November. The final event of the year saw 12 teams compete against each other to earn the end of year trophies.

We had three teams entered in the Red Ball, Orange Ball, and Green Ball events, all winning first places in their respective pools.

In the Red Ball Somerset Students, Benedict Thompson, Matilda Thompson, Paxton Stewart and Xanthe Stewart went undefeated to claim first in Pool B, with Benedict Thompson receiving the Sportsmanship Award, which is awarded to the player who shows Sportsmanlike attitudes throughout the year. An amazing award to receive and an amazing accomplishment for the team!

Following the Red Ball competition, the Orange Ball continued the trend. Tima Korin, Liam Borin, Lucy Pluss, William Pluss, Ling Rostas and Tyler Bethscheider also finished first place in Pool B, with Liam Borin also receiving the Sportsmanship award.

Finally, the Green Ball team, consisting of Ethan Stewart and William Pluss not only finishing first in their pool, but also taking home the Trophy Shield for finishing first out of all 12 teams. An absolute astounding achievement which the boys should be extremely proud of. William Pluss also took home the Sportsmanship Award for the green ball event.

Overall, it was an amazing end to the year with some amazing results and quality tennis played. Thank you to all the parents who were able to make this event possible by attending all five Future Stars events this year!
