The Somerset College Knowledge and Information Precinct is home to the College’s library services. Our Knowledge and Information Precinct, located centrally in the Dr Peter Brown building, is a resource rich environment focused on supporting our students’ personal success and encouraging their global outlook.
Our staff and services encourage and support staff and students in being effective users of information, as well as knowledge producers and empowering them to become independent, lifelong learners.
With a fondness for literature, we encourage students to develop and sustain an enjoyment of reading for pleasure, as well as learning. We maintain a well-developed collection of fiction, suitable for readers from Pre-Prep to Year 12 and beyond.
The Knowledge and Information Precinct, through the physical and digital resources of our collection and our facilities, provides up to date and quality resources to support the needs of our students and staff. Our dedicated library website provides a wealth of resources, including dedicated subject and unit guides to assist students in their research and learning.
These “libguides” are constantly evolving to reflect and meet the needs of our College’s community of learners. The College subscribes to a wide range of online databases, curated and selected to meet the needs of our learners across all year levels. Our facility provides easy access to a range of technologies, as well as supporting our students’ own devices.
The Knowledge and Information Precinct is open from 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
